So, I thought I would keep you guys posted with my current professional situation! Right before Christmas I applied at several magazines for editorial internships, and I got one at Factio Magazine here in Chicago. Factio is a magazine that is updated all the time online and then comes out with print issues every now and then, most recently at the end of last month. Basically it's fairly simple...I get about 2 stories a day with deadlines, I do everything from home and just send it in, and then whatever they need...they post on the website! I've really enjoyed it so far. I've gotten to cover a few events, like a store opening and a fashion exhibit. The internship lasts until April, which is when I'm going to get a real paying job somewhere like a restaurant or a gym, cuz I need $$$! (If you would like to send me some you can go ahead and do that...haha...but seriously)
You can read my stuff at
http://www.factio-magazine.com/ and runwaytoretail.blogspot.com
There are a lot of articles to sift through, so I'll give you some titles of my favorites.

There are a lot more too. You can also go to http://factio-magazine.com/pastmagazines/index04.cfm to view the current Winter 2010 issue. My work is on many of the pages! I'll keep you posted!

Auld Lang Syne
Well, I started the New Year off with a bang with some of my friends from Chicago, and some out-of-townies from Wisco that Nicole went to Milwaukee with. It was such a good time! We got all dolled up and had drinks at my friend Kelsey's apartment, and then we headed to the W Hotel in downtown Chicago for their New Year's Eve Bash. There were a few DJs in different rooms, a balloon drop at midnight, and some of the girls knew people who had bought tables and stuff so it was a pretty good time. Throughout the night we lost some girls and made some unique friends, but at the end of the night it was just me and Nicole sitting on her couch and eating chicken fingers and ranch. A beautiful to start to what I think is going to be my best year yet! :)
I'm not posting my resolutions because I have a lot, and I don't want you to judge me when I fail on them. I'm still young enough to blow them off.
I hope your 2010 is the best year ever!!
So far so good on my part!
XOXO

"There's Nothing Better Than My Christmas Sweater!"
So I took the holidays off from blogging (and then an additional month I guess), but I'm back with some stories to tell!
As everyone knows, theme parties are a trend in my group of friends, so of course we had to have an Ugly Christmas Sweater Party. Now we take this very seriously as you will see by the pictures. A few weeks before, we all bundled up and headed to Ragstock: our One-Stop Ugly Christmas Creation Station. They have THOUSANDS of sweaters there from cardigans with pom poms to pullovers with bells all made with such care using glitter, felt, iron-on transfer paper, cartoon appliques, you name it...they have it! Seriously...we spent like an hour and a half going through them. I ended up getting two because there were too many to choose from: my main sweater (pictures below), and a sweatshirt most likely made by somebody's aunt for a gift when they were around 9 1/2, with a iron-on snowman and puff paint glitter snowflakes alongside the words "LET IT SNOW!". Don't worry guys, I wore it to school.
We held the party at Katie's and we made hot chocolate mixed with Peppermint Schnapps and pudding shots with mini candy canes to help scoop them out. Delish. Lindsay and I had light up cups, there were candy cane straws and green and red drink umbrellas....we went all out. As always, it was super fun.
Light-up Cup, Sweat, Hair bow with attached bell...HOT

The crew...I mean we couldn't get it together, but you can see the outfits lol
My entire get-up
XOXO
